The White House has now declared monkeypox a public health emergency.
The Biden administration took the measure as more than 6,600 cases have been reported.
Cases continue to rise across the nation and states including California and Illinois had already issued emergency notices.
Monkeypox have been reported in 48 states with only Montana and Wyoming monkeypox-free.
The World Health Organization declared it an emergency last month.
President Joe Biden has set up a team of experts to lead the response to the outbreak.
The declaration opens up extra funding to fight the outbreak such as vaccines and treatments.
“We will tackle this outbreak with the urgency this moment demands,” said Robert Fenton, the White House national monkeypox response coordinator.
Despite the fast-growing number of cases, there haven’t been any confirmed deaths reported in the US.
