Children aged under 16 will no longer have to take a Covid-19 PCR test before they travel to Dubai or Abu Dhabi following the latest change in rules by the United Arab Emirates.
The relaxing of the testing requirements will be a boost to the family market to the UAE with the winter-sun season approaching.
Under current regulations, travellers to the UAE do not need to take a pre-departure PCR test if they are fully vaccinated, hold a Covid recovery certificate dated within 30 days of departure or have “severe disabilities”.Those who are not fully vaccinated or do not have a recovery certificate must instead provide a negative PCR test, taken within 48 hours of departure, which must be presented at check-in for their flight to the UAE.
Transit passengers flying through the UAE must also provide a negative PCR test if that is required at their final destination.
Travellers arriving in the UAE may still be required to take a PCR test on arrival and will have to isolate pending the result of this test. Those who test positive may have to self-isolate at a government facility, hospital, hotel or privately arranged accommodation for at least 10 days.
