A newly delivered Boeing 777-300ER will be the first plane to feature Qatars new Qsuites, rather than a reconfigured one.
It will begin flying between Doha and London as of June 2017.
All 777s and A350s will feature Qatar Airways’ new Qsuites. Meanwhile the 787s and A380s will feature a modified version of the product, given that the business class cabins on those planes aren’t as wide.
It is not expected that the new Qsuites will come in A330 and A340 aircraft.
Akbar Al Baker, CEO, Qatar Airways claims that all planes will be reconfigured by next year.
Qatar Airways does not seem to want to reduce seat count to accommodate these new seats. The 777-300ERs feature 42 business class seats, and the new product will also feature 42 seats, without eliminating economy seats.
The QSuite features the industry’s first-ever double bed available in Business Class, with privacy panels that stow away, allowing passengers in adjoining seats to create their own private room. Adjustable panels and movable TV monitors on the centre four seats allow colleagues, friends or families travelling together to transform their space into a private suite, providing the ultimate customizable travel experience that enables passengers to create an environment that suits their own unique needs.
“With these innovations, Qatar Airways has revolutionized the way we serve our Business Class travelers, enabling our passengers to enjoy a First Class experience in Business Class. This is truly Business Class as never seen before and is entirely in keeping with our Premium product and service philosophy,” says Akbar Al Baker.
