Thai police have arrested three men suspected of planning bomb attacks in six tourist sites in and around Bangkok. Police did not specify which sites were targeted but said in October police increased security at major landmarks, including airports, following reports of bomb plots. The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office has updated it advice for Thailand visitors saying further incidents are possible throughout Thailand. “The Thai authorities have on a number of occasions warned of the possibility of attacks to coincide with symbolic dates or holidays,” it said. “There is a high threat from terrorism. Bomb and grenade attacks have been indiscriminate, including in places visited by foreigners. You should follow the advice of the local authorities, monitor local media reports and remain vigilant.”
