”Sweden is attracting increasing attention for our dynamic economy, vibrant startup scene and strong public finances. Stockholm is among the fastest growing cities in Europe with a great potential for business. It is the corporate and financial center of Scandinavia and the growth engine in the North Europe. More international companies choose to place their regional head offices in Stockholm than any other city’s in Scandinavia,” said Ann Linde, minister for EU and Trade, Sweden, when she opened the first flight from Singapore Airlines in Arlanda Stockholm Airport on the new Singapore – Moscow – Stockholm route.
The minister cut the string when she declared the route opened, after which more than 100 passengers took on the first trip with the Airbus 350.
“The Swedish government supports and encourages new direct lines to Swedish airports. We recognize the importance they hold for attracting investment, trade and tourism.
Opening new direct lines is one out of 22 priorities in Sweden`s export strategy. New flights are always good news, since they increase the connections and exchanges between countries and facilitate trade, investment and people-to-people exchanges.”
“Today Singapore is home to almost 300 Swedish business, and Sweden’s largest export market in Southeast Asia,” said Ann Linde.
