Smyril Line is building its third hotel in the Faroe Islands. The new 4-star hotel is finished in May 2020 on the outskirts of Torshavn.
The new hotel has 125 rooms, and thus Smyril Line reaches over 200 hotel rooms in Torshavn.
Henny á Líknargøtu, who is the sales and marketing director of Smyril Line, says that some of the things that distinguish the new hotel from other hotels are that all rooms are the same and that there is parking for 130 cars, so all rooms are secured a parking space. The hotel is centrally located. It takes less than 10 minutes. walking from the city center to the hotel, and the hotel is right next to the football stadium and the sports center in Torshavn.
The shipping company Smyril Line already owns two hotels in the Faroe Islands. Hotel Skálavík, located on the island of Sandoy, has 23 rooms plus an apartment, and Hotel Hafnia, located in Torshavn’s old town, is the city’s old, classic hotel, which has always been known for its hospitality with high personal service. Hafnia has 79 rooms
Smyril Line operates the ferry MS Norröna, which sails between Hirtshals in Denmark, Torshavn in the Faroe Islands and Seydisfjordur in Iceland. Norröna has room for 1,482 passengers and 800 cars.
The company also owns the freight company Smyril Line Cargo, which has the freight vessels Eystnes, Hvítanes and Mykines. Smyril Line is headquartered in Torshavn and offices in Denmark, Iceland and German
