Marriott International said it plans to open approximately 100 hotels in the Asia-Pacific region i
2021.
The hotelier will add hotels under multiple brands, including JW Marriott, W hotels, and the Ritz-Carlton Reserve.
“The strength of our pipeline is testament to the long-term growth prospects in Asia Pacific,” said Paul Foskey, the chain’s chief development officer for the Asia-Pacific region.
The opening of the Ritz-Carlton Reserve Jiuzhaigo this spring in China will make the country the first in the Asia-Pacific region to host all of Marriott’s luxury brands.
The W hotel brand will debut in Japan following the opening of the W Osaka. In addition, Marriott intends to open six Fairfield by Marriott hotels in the country in 2021 with plans to have 30 locations in Japan by 2023.
The opening of the Tasman in Hobart will mark the debut of the Luxury Collection in Australia. Marriott will open its second W hotel in the country with the W Melbourne in spring. The Melbourne Marriott Docklands will also open in the city in early 2021.
