Singapore Airlines has revealed the luxurious business class cabin that it will soon roll out on its Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The MAX 8s will have space for 10 business class passengers, in alternating rows consisting of four, two, and four lie-flat seats. The row with just two flatbeds is particularly attractive, with these throne-style seats offering extra space and storage.

An exclusive premium cabin
Earlier today, Singapore Airlines launched the new cabin products that it will shortly deploy on its Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The highlight of these is, of course, the carrier’s lavish 10-seat business class cabin. Designed by Factorydesign and produced by Thompson Aero Seating, the seats offer lie-flat comfort on a similar level to Singapore Airlines’ widebodies.
Singapore Airlines explains that “the 737-8 cabin has been designed with a special focus on ergonomics.” Personal space and privacy are also key features of the product. Lee Lik Hsin, Singapore Airlines’ Executive Vice President (Commercial), stated:
“This is the culmination of three years of innovation and hard work, involving extensive customer research and close partnerships with designers and suppliers. As a result, we can now offer customers a premium travel experience across our entire full-service network, no matter how long or short their journey.”

Facts and figures
The first and third rows of the 10-seat cabin have a 2-2 configuration, making them ideal for couples traveling together. However, the staggered layout means that the second row features just one throne-style seat on each side of the aisle, offering single travelers greater privacy and storage options. Each seat has a 16-inch IFE screen and in-seat AC power.
When seated upright, the 22-inch wide seats offer passengers a spacious 44 inches of pitch. However, they can also recline into fully-flat beds, measuring 76 inches (193 cm) long. This provides comfort levels akin to longer flights, as the airline explains that “the seat cushions and covers use the same soft furnishings as those found on our medium-haul aircraft.”
Even the MAX 8’s 144-seat economy class cabin looks to be an attractive prospect with Singapore Airlines. While the 30-inch seat pitch is fairly average, passengers can enjoy five inches of recline in their 18-inch wide seats. Each economy passenger also has a 10-inch IFE screen at their disposal, as well as a single USB charging port.

The launch of the new cabin will surely have tempted many to sample Singapore Airlines’ Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. According to the carrier, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, and Thailand are on the cards as destinations.
