Hyatt Hotels Corp. is poised to open its first property in Sweden in early 2021. The Hotell Reisen in Stockholm will join the Unbound Collection by Hyatt brand after extensive renovations.

Located on the waterfront in Stockholm’s Old Town, the Hotell Reisen is situated within walking distance of many of the city’s top attractions, including the Royal Palace. The name Reisen originates from a 1750s coffee house, and the building has been in use on and off as a guesthouse and hotel ever since. The acquisition will bring the number of European hotels in the Unbound Collection portfolio to eight, including the Great Scotland Yard Hotel in London; the Wellem in Dusseldorf, Germany; the Hotel Martinez, Hotel du Louvre and Hotel du Palais Biarritz in France; the Parisi Udvar Hotel Budapest; and the Hotel Sofia Barcelona.
In addition, the Byblos Hotel on Spain’s Costa del Sol and the Grand Hansa Hotel in Helsinki are anticipated to open in 2022.
