With construction of the FIFA World Football Museum beginning on 25 April 2013, the hotly anticipated opening of the Museum in the centre of Zurich is finally set for 28 February 2016.
Football fans can expect to be thoroughly wow-ed by the modern and interactive Museum, where the entire 103 years of the FIFA congress is documented and on display. This is where the vast collection of memories of every single congress, game, player, news story and selected images is artfully exhibited under the one roof and across three themed floors.
Director of Switzerland Tourism ANZ, Mark Wettstein, says the FIFA Museum is one a kind, bringing to life the story of how football began and became the world’s most popular sport.
“As with most of our museums in Switzerland, it’s not only what is on display to visitors at the FIFA Museum,” says Mark. “Even more so, it is about the multimedia and interactive experience from start to finish with which visitors engage as they journey through the space, learning about the history, personalities and stories that unfold before them.”
Five dedicated educational and entertainment areas (including the lab, library, a gaming area, giant football pinball, sonic pods and a 180° cinema screen) will provide visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of football.
