Serbia gets back into focus – not only by the continuing flow of refugees. Even in tourism, the Balkan country is rising in the favour of foreign visitors.
Last year, the number of wealthy overnight guests from Europe and elsewhere increased by eleven per cent. Therefore new hotels are needed – especially in the busy capital city of Belgrade, where nearly half of all foreign guests stayed. According to TOPHOTELPROJECTS, the worldwide leading provider for global b2b hotel data, currently ten new, large hotel construction projects are in the pipeline in Serbia.
In the central European capital Belgrade, a new InterContinental hotel with 220 rooms is in the pipeline. The top hotel will look like a beacon and is scheduled to open in spring of 2017. The Serbian capital is already popular at international hotel brands. For years, brands such as Hyatt Regency, Best Western, Holiday Inn and Falkensteiner are presented in the country. Recently hotels by brands like Crowne Plaza, Radisson Blu and Courtyard by Marriott were added.
