Global hotel search engine trivago, which features more than 900,000 properties, has partnered with TrustYou — a user review and content aggregator — to improve its review summaries of hotels.
TrustYou Meta-Reviews, available in more than 30 languages, give a visual summary of a hotel’s guest reviews, scanning and distilling hundreds of millions of opinions from across the Internet. On trivago, it rates a hotel (on a scale to 100) in several areas based on these reviews, including location, food, Wi-Fi, service, room quality, vibe, pool, value and more.
On top of that, you can filter rankings based on type of traveler, from couples to families to business travelers to solo travelers. The service also displays additional sections under each hotel such as Hotel Type and Good To Know, complete with guest quotes.
“Travelers’ opinions are the top influencer of booking decisions,” said Benjamin Jost, CEO and co-founder of TrustYou, via a release. “It is essential for the travel industry to display trusted reviews in a way that is quick and easy for travelers to understand without the need to read hundreds of reviews themselves. The way trivago has opted to use our Meta-Reviews API is an ideal example of how to do this.”
“We want every user on trivago to be able to search and find the hotel which fits best into their ideal travel experience,” added Sydney Burdick, trivago spokesperson. “By bringing TrustYou reviews onboard, we are able to improve the search experience even more, by helping travelers to decipher what was once a complex amount of information in seconds.”
The hotel search on trivago already allows travelers to compare hotels from more than 250 booking sites.
