Holidaymakers to Spain could be hit by major flight disruption later this month as airport workers threaten strike action.
Unions representing around 60,000 airport workers across Spain are planning to walk out on October 15 unless they can reach an agreement with ASEATA, the Association of Airport Ground Support Services Companies.
A dispute on pay and conditions has already been rumbling on for three years.
Now three unions – USO Aereo, CCOO and UGT – have given notice of industrial action unless the matter is resolved at a meeting on Thursday.
In a statement the unions said an agreement had been signed in July ‘to close the final text of this new collective agreement’ before the end of September, but this has not taken place.
